In 2018 the Cleveland Orchestra fired two of its leading musicians, concertmaster William Preucil and principal trombonist Massimo La Rosa, following an independent investigation into sexual misconduct. The investigation, conducted by an external law firm, substantiated allegations that both men had engaged in sexual misconduct and sexually harassing behavior with female students and colleagues over a period of years.
